Now, it seems we have a proud owner of a first generation (1972-1985) Renault 5 found on the Island of Corfu, Greece.
I love that the shutters of the house match this old car.
The Renault 5 was also known as the Super 5 or Supercinq, and was later marketed in North America as Le Car. The first generation was manufactured between 1972-1985, this particular car is somewhere in between that range. All in all more than 5 million were built over the years.
A great simple hatchback to get around town. You can see the visibility is fantastic, perfect for a place like Corfu with its many windy mountain roads and lovely scenery.
Despite the bumps, missing tail lights, and the absence of license plates, I’m quite certain this one is still road worthy. Life is pretty laid back in Corfu.
Rust, the sign of true love for a car.
So, there you have it a lovely looking Renault 5!
