I’ve seen one of these before, a gorgeous red Jaguar E-Type 4.2 (aka Jaguar XK-E). Last time, I chased it down the street in London England but could only get some shots from behind. I found this one sitting in a Boulder parking lot when I was out picking up some fresh coffee.
As mentioned before, the series one version with a 4.2 litre engine was produced between the years of 1964-1968. It appears that this is a 1968 Jaguar E-Type.
This car has some incredible curves, and and is characterize by some very nice round shapes.
Here is a look from the back end. The wheel covers are very cool looking.
As you can see the headlights are not enclosed in glass. They were up until 1967 which suggests this is a 1968 E-Type.
I like the tint in these windows. It accentuates the chrome trim and also the candy apple red paint. Also, I would say somewhat necessary in Colorado where the sun is strong and bright, especially up high on the twisty mountain roads.
This is a zippy car, what a treat it would be to drive in the Rockies. Top speed is 150 mph, and acceleration very good doing 0-60 mph in about 7 seconds.
Such unique design. It is considered one of the best ever.
Here is a look from the front of the car. Looks like 2 eyes and a big smile. Cool extra bump in the middle of the hood.
I circled this like a shark. Here is a look from the side angle.
Would you rather have the Jag, or the Porsche?
I’d take the E-Type myself. It is so unique, and of this particular series 1 model – only 16,195 were ever produced.
Here is a close up view of that special silver glowing Jaguar emblem.
I love how the chrome bumper wraps all around the body of the car, so cool. Some tough-ass exhaust pipes underneath too.
So, there you have it a more in-depth look at a red 1968 Jaguar E-Type in wonderful condition, as you would expect.
