Now this is one great looking American luxury cruiser of the past, a striking red 1978 Ford Thunderbird!
Man that’s red! Wow!
This car is quite similar in looks to the 1979 Lincoln Continental Coupe. Both have those awesome flip up headlight covers, and big chrome grills.
Those flip up head light covers look amazing with the chrome trim and logos…Thunderbird coming at ya!
The front end on this machine just keeps going and going…can you imagine popping up the hood on this thing?
One thing I really love about older cars is the size of the windows. Look at the all that glass in the windshield and front side windows.
The T-bird was manufactured for a very long stretch of time. First from 1955-1997, and then again from 2002-2005. This red beast is a 7th generation model that was built from 1977-1979. All in all there were 11 different generations of this car. It was this 7th generation where the T-bird began a series of downsizing, although still quite a large vehicle.
Here is a look from the back. I love the logos on the tail lights. Chrome trim around the lights looks great.
I love the extra back seat passenger peek out window.
Nice white interior, it looks amazing in contrast to the red paint and red seatbelt. Very stylish…
So, there you have it a very striking 1978 Ford Thunderbird in spectacular red found in Boulder, CO.
